#360: Avoid Blacklists Like a Plague

“Senders with low complaints, who don’t hit spam traps, and who send email consistently generally don’t get blacklisted. However, if you do get blacklisted, having a good sending reputation will help convince the blacklist administrator to remove your IPs from their list.”

ISPs use what’s called a blacklist to keep spammers out of our inboxes and content marketers in check. If you abuse your list and end up on a reputable blacklist, there’s a good chance you won’t find it easy getting service from any ISPs, which means your content is going nowhere fast. If you do find yourself on a backlist, you may have to appeal to an ISP administrator.
