#49: Only Ask for What You Need

Your first endeavor to accumulate new subscribers will be riddled with temptation to collect every morsel of personal data from subscribers; things like gender, location, and areas of interest. But that’s a mistake you should avoid by putting yourself in the subscribers shoes. Would you want to fork over all this information up front? Make it easy for subscribers to trust your brand and sign up without asking too much from them too soon.
