Section 7: Repurposing

“I really look at my childhood as being one giant rusty tuna can that I continue to recycle in many different shapes.” — Augusten Burroughs

Any content of quality that you’ve created has most certainly taken a bit of time to produce. It seems such a waste to use it once and move on. Where’s the economy in that? Take this eBook. We’ve invested 6 months of our lives in this beast. So we planned early on to use this in every way we possibly can. We already posted an early blog featuring some of the experts. We’ve set this up to be Tweetable, shareable, and Pinnable—this last one requiring some technical acrobatics from our creative team. We’ll have a few interactive and motion-based components, emails, future blog posts, and a wealth of image-based content for the next 6 months—all from one eBook. And we’re still exploring the many shapes we can recycle THIS rusty tuna can into. —B
